East Coast Parkrun – Singapore

We stayed at the Grand Mecure Roxy which is in close proximity to East Coast parkrun, this allowed us to walk to the start line. We followed some locals to the park whom turned out were merely going for a run in the park NOT parkrun, that was hilarious, however after they trotted off for their run we managed to find the start of Parkrun. The conditions were hot and humid and the course was beautiful.
Course Description
Starting on the pathway beside Car Park B1, the route goes east 2.5km staying on the left hand side of the pathway all the way until the 2.5km turnaround point. The route is completely flat.
The East Coast Park itself is a beach park located on the southeastern coast of Singapore. It was opened in the 1970s, when the government completed reclaiming land off the coast at Katong which extends from Changi to Tanjong Rhu.
Facilities
At the start/finish there are toilets, showers, shelter, bike stands, drinks vending machine.
Note there are no water fountains in the park. Due to the hot conditions in Singapore, all participants are asked to bring along their own water.
TIP: Take water or have a means to buy from the vending machine.
Parkrun App checklist : Compass club, Alphabeteer, Explorer, Jetsetter, Namely, Old MacDonald, Tourist, also Volunteer opportunities.

Accommodation: Grand Mecure Roxy Singapore

About Me

G'day I'm Steve O'Connor

I turned 60 in the year 2026 and I have been given an opportunity to take an early retirement. I have set up this blog site to document my travel adventures and my comeback to running after a knee arthroscope. I hope you will follow along and I hope I can inspire you to live your dream!
